thanks alot, i was already wondering why it was failing on some fate machines
but not all and i couldnt reproduce the problem. And then fates output was
a bit terse for me finding out what happened

also i must repeat what i said in the past, the build system needs to be
documented better, everyone who adds the first subdirectory in a directory
will be hit by this.
