iirc, you were the one suggesting it is useless because slow...
(otoh, that is no excuse for me not working on it for over a year.)

I tried to review the posted patch, my comments were mostly "unrelated?", but I
received no further answer (so I don't know if my review was just stupid).

Apart from that, I never understood the new API, at the time it was invented
there were neither drivers not hardware (that was long before DXVA), and Uoti
kindly pointed that out repeatedly, so I didn't had to follow the discussion;-)
