How is this related to my doubting lack of communication as the main
problem?

You don't know my opinion about what SoC goals should be for FFmpeg.
I have not voiced my opinion and what you imply it might be is wrong.
So please don't go around extrapolating opinions from random remarks
in the general context of a subject.  Much more so when they get
quoted out of context by a third person.
