Sorry but Im mov maintainer, I don't see where a change of lavf
development policy occured.
Code is meant to play local files and so far it does.

This is really not a tiny feature for me, and I wanted to do that since
a long time, and after seeing a bug report about that in ffmpeg-user
(BrianCox.mov), I finally decided to do it.
