With linux-libc-dev 2.6.25-7 it compiles fine, this can be installed
even if the kernel in use is different (wondering if this won't cause
major hassle, I bet yes..., I passed the afternoon trying the kernel
2.6.24/25, reading and filing bug reports and getting stuck anyway).
Apparently linux-libc-dev is the package to install to compile
applications which use linux as it installs the files in
/usr/include/linux, while the various linux-headers packages are used
to compile kernel modules.
Regards.
