I also wasn't very happy about this commit flood.
But I had no better solution.

In fact I started those changes as one big patch which quickly
became un-reviewable. Then I split it in many patches. And then
I added a few more patches which required me to modify some of
the very first patches (thanks to stgit).
So the only real alternative here would have been one huge
un-reviewable commit.

So trust me that I don't like such flood and that I would have
avoided it if there were a reasonable way to do so.
