It breaks in the same way as previously (when the line read "strings
$TMPO ...").
I didn't actually check how the configure test behaved, I only noticed
that H264 was broken again since you replaced "strings -" by "strings
-a".

I shall be able to give you more details about how the configure test
behaves tonite or the day after.

What I can do is file a bug report to Apple, if you are sure that the
correct way to implement this test is with "strings -a". If ever the
bug gets fixed, it still won't help support for older version of OSX
with a non-POSIX "strings".
