I believe that tabs already are forbidden in MPlayer, at least in
committed code - it's just that the policy has never been rigidly
enforced.

On the other side, I'm against considering "lines which consist only of
whitespace" to be "trailing whitespace", which if I'm not mistaken this
script would do. It's not likely to affect me unless and until such time
as I reach the point of actually writing new code myself, instead of
just modifying existing files (and mostly documentation files at that),
but it's still very aggravating just in principle.
