Michael, shall I redo my benchmarks now?

It looks as though you are trying to optimize MPEG-1/2 - which is great
btw :) - and I'm not sure what the best moment to repeat the benchmarks
would be.  If it helps you, I can repeat the benchmarks for every new
revision of mpeg12.c, but maybe this is overkill and you can just tell
me when you are finished and I'll redo them then.

So before I do work in vain, I'd like to know what the best course of
action will be.  Doing them for every revision is no problem, I just
want to be sure I don't waste my time if I do it.
