[DVDnav-discuss] Fwd: [MPlayer-dev-eng] Fwd: enable libdvdnav cacheing?

Anybody have any recollection as to why, once upon a time, mplayer had
to disable libdvdnav caching, and adds the message "you should use
-nocache" to this day?
Just wondering if maybe it's a bug that's been fixed since.
Cheers!

Long time ago Reimar patched mplayer to permit the caching of dvdnav streams,
but mplayer's caching is a totally different thing from dvdnav's caching.
IIRC setting the readahead flag in dvdnav caused all sorts of problems
at the time.
Maybe the two are no more incompatible, but too many years (and tears)
have passed,
I don't know.
