please, report the output of
dvdnav-config --minilibs -L/usr/lib -ldvdnav -lpthread

if it doesn't show something like:
$ ./obj/dvdnav-config --minilibs
-L/usr/local/lib -ldvdnavmini -lpthread

you are using an old version. (did you read this morning's -svnlog? )
