Thanks, using a .gtkrc worked! I had some trouble making SuSE 9.0/KDE 3.1 to 
understand that I wanted to use my own theme/font settins for GTK apps but 
finally succeeded.

Now I can concentrate to other problems like why won't AC3 passtrough work 
properly anymore with the latest ALSA (1.06a) and MPlayer CVS version 
(08/25)... It did work fine with 0.93 and some older ALSA drivers.
